According to the tourism industry standard of the People's Republic of China, "Classification of Tourism and Leisure Blocks" (LB/T 082-2021), after evaluation and public announcement, the Sanya Dadonghai International Coastal Tourism and Leisure Block meets the requirements of the provincial tourism and leisure block standard and is determined to be a provincial-level tourism and leisure block.

The Dadonghai International Coastal Leisure Block is an early developed and mature seaside resort in Sanya City. In 1991, it was rated as one of the "Top 40 Scenic Spots in China" by the National Tourism Administration. At the same time, in response to the key task requirements of building an international tourism consumption center leading area in Sanya, the Dadonghai International Coastal Leisure Block is positioned according to its development positioning, with international coastal leisure as its positioning and coastal leisure culture as its characteristic. It integrates functions such as Asian sand culture, maritime entertainment, beach sports, seafood cuisine, and nighttime experience leisure.
